      Comments about Acuvue 2:

I switched to Acuvue 2 from Acuvue Oasys looking to save a few dollars. The first few weeks wearing the Acuvue 2 lenses my vision was fine and the lenses were comfortable to wear.

But after about 3 weeks I realized I had made a big mistake in down grading. These lenses get dry very easily, I am constantly re-wetting the lenses with drops, multiple times a day. After about 4 hours of wearing these lenses they become uncomfortable, irritating, and dry and often give me headaches.

I was stuck with them because I purchased 6 boxes of them! I am so happy that my supply is finally done and I can switch back to the Acuvue Oasys lenses, they are much more comfortable and can be worn all day without needing drops. If your eyes tend to get dry easily, steer clear of these lenses. They are cheaper than most other brands but, they are not worth it!

        Comments about Acuvue 2:

I have worn contact lenses for over 12 years...Acuvue 2 are the best contacts I have ever tried! I forget that I am wearing them! I have terrible vision (-6.0 & -6.50) and I find that I never have problems with my vision/comfort whether I am playing sports, driving, reading or just living life. I used to use a different Acuvue lens when I first got contacts (cannot remember which ones - too long ago) and I had problems with them after a year or two after I started using contacts (my eyes were building up protein and pretty much rejecting the contacts). My eye doctor recommended I switched and after a few tries I ended up with Acuvue 2 and have stuck with them ever since.

For the record, I can only remember 1 or 2 occassions in which I actually tore one of my lenses! - in over 12 years of using contacts!!! so I feel if people ARE tearing their lenses (especially Acuvue 2 lenses), they must be doing something wrong.

However, I got a new job which requires many hours (I work 10 hr days) looking into a computer screen and I find my eyes are starting to get dry and uncomfortable. I now wear my glasses for the morning, then switch to my contacts for the afternoon, but I was wondering if anyone knows of lenses that are even better than Acuvue 2 for extended wear?

I had enough with glasses, so I went to my eye doctor and he gave me these, once they were in it felt like nothing was there, I was surprise how these contacts felt so good. But the daily cleaning is a turn off. But the great price and comfort really matters the most. I seriously reccomend these! I hoping to try all the acuvue brand contacts!

        Comments about Acuvue 2:

These are okay to wear but they won't last long throughout the day. They aren't great for extended wear and they do tear easily. My eyes get really red when I take naps in them. Unfortunately these didn't work out for me as my new replacements, because I was once a Focus Monthly Visitint contact wearer for five years but those got discontinued. These seemed okay to wear for a few days but they are really fragile.

I dont know my base curve and or my diameter because i havent had contacts in over a year... Is there a way to find out? If not can i return them if they are wrong?

            A:

You definitely need to know the base curve and diameter before you place an order. Without those measurements, the lenses will not fit properly and could be uncomfortable. We can call your eye doctor to obtain your contact lens measurements, however if it has been more than a year since your last eye exam, they may ask you to go in for an office visit before they will approve your order.

The Acuvue 2 do come in color, however, you need to look under the brand name Acuvue 2 Colours. They are listed as a separate brand than the clear Acuvue 2 lenses. Those are the only colored lenses offered in an Acuvue brand.

BC stands for base curve. It is the curvature of the lens and your eye care provider will prescribe a base curve that will fit the curvature of your eye.

Unfortunately, we are unable to suggest any change in your prescription. If you feel like your prescription needs to be adjusted, you would need to talk to your eye doctor to get approval for an adjustment. If you want to increase it, that also could mean your eyes have changed and should be checked again.
