    Comments about Acuvue Advance:

I have been wearing contacts since 1991 and wore these contacts from 2005 to 2010. I am currently trying a different lens; here is why:

Acuvue Advance with Hydroclear was a very comfortable lens, but ...

    1. I tend to wear my lenses for an extended period of time, including nights, sport including swimming and water-skiing, etc. My doctor felt that I should be wearing a lens that was approved for extended and overnight use for up to a month, instead of for two weeks like these.

    2. I have been having pretty severe reduction in night vision, which may be caused by the UV and/or visitint coating(s). It didn't really occur to me that it may have been my contacts; I figured I was just starting to show my age. So far, I do not seem to have that problem with my new lens, but who knows what the future will bring!

    3. These Acuvue Advance lenses are quite fragile. They do need to be handled very carefully. Wearing them as extended lenses seemed to make them last a bit longer, as the cleaning/rubbing tore them frequently. I even switched to "no-rub" saline (mps), to no avail.

    4. And this one I did not realize until I switched to my new (different brand) lens -- my vision was not actually that clear. It felt clear, but my brain had apparently made some adjustments because now, suddenly, I can read without concentrating or focusing. I am having less tense and having fewer headaches!

      Comments about Acuvue Advance:

The AA are nice quality. Great for everyday use, indoor, outdoor, you name it. The only problem is that they will dry out. If you take naps during the day or if u leave it on for prolonged use, the lenses start to dry out. So just apply some drops and you good to go again. Other than that you don't even notice that you wear them. Until something gets stuck in your eye.
However to maintain excellent results, proper cleaning has to be maintained. Which means actually cleaning off those lenses every night and not just chucking them in the case.

      Comments about Acuvue Advance:

I have used these contacts since they have been available. I love them and hope they will always be available! I have tried others just to see what is out there (o2 Optix, Acuvue 2) and these far surpass any of them. They do tend to tear easily but that just means I have to be extra careful!

        Comments about Acuvue Advance:

I have had very little to no problems with my Acuvue Advance. If I fall asleep watching TV before bedtime, the lens will sometimes feel dry when I wake. I just add a little wetting solution and have no problems with taking them out or cracking.

How many lenses comes in one box and is's good for two weeks or not?

            A:

Each box contains 6 contact lenses. Each pair can be worn for up to 2 weeks as recommended by the manufacturer. So, one box for each eye would be 6 pairs, and should last approximately 3 months.

i tried these contacts at my dr.s office.. he gave me a sample.. i liked the way they felt but the made my eyes itchy. is that normal??

            A:

It is common to have an initial adjustment period if you are a new contact lens wearer. It can take time to get used to any contact lens. However, your eyes should not itch on an ongoing basis. If they are continually itchy, the lenses are irritating the eye in some way. You should definitely inform your doctor that they are itching and allow him to advise you from there. You may just need to wear a different brand of contacts that will be more comfortable.

            A:

The Acuvue Advance are only offered in base curves of 8.3 or 8.7. If your prescription is for an 8.6 base curve, it is probably for a different brand. You will need to order the brand your doctor prescribed, or get a new prescription for the Acuvue Advance lenses.
