Comments about Biomedics 55:

I've had a few different brands of contacts, and these ones are the worst by far. They are okay for a few days; where I can wear them for 12 hours or more, but then by day five I find they become uncomfortable around hour 9. They require lots and lots of cleaning and even after all that hassle I can still feel the contact "sit" on my eye like paper.

When I'm outdoors and there is a slight breeze, I can feel the contact dry out and if I don't get eye drops in my eyes quick enough then I'll blink the contacts out. So unless you want to carry cleaning solution and eye drops around all day; because these contacts will fall out... they I would try something else.

I have worn this brand for over 10 yrs and I still love them. Dr tried to change me into another one for more oxygen to my eye (i wear them overnight and days on end) There was no other conatct I tried that could compare to my love for these! They have a lil blueish tint to them so it makes it not so bright when sun is out. They still continue to be my favorite kind even otu of the newer brands...not to hard and not too soft...

I have Biomedics55 lenses that come with UV blocking. Is it safe to assume that the other brands that offer the "same contacts" also have UV blocking?

  Yes, any private label for the Biomedics 55, such as the UltraFlex, Provision, Sofmed, Versaflex, and others, will all be identical lenses. The manufacturer simply markets them under many different names, depending on who the retailer is. You will still receive the exact same contact lenses, and they will all have the same properties, including the UV blocking technology.

  The AquaTech Plus lenses are actually a private label for the Avaira brand contact lenses. The manufacturer sells them under a number of different names, but the lenses are exactly the same. You will need to order the Avaira lenses, which you will see also come in an 8.5 base curve.
