    Comments about Frequency 55 Toric:

I have always had trouble finding good contacts. Frequency 55 was recommended by my optho. I went through 3 trial sets and have yet to find a Frequency lens that doesn't move. Would wear the lens for all of two hours and just wanted to tear them out!

      Comments about Frequency 55 Toric:

I love these contacts! I used to wear the gas permeables and these are 100% better. I find that I can normally wear them for longer than the prescribed 30 days. They do tend to start getting dryer after 45 days though. There is no glare and no discomfort to the point where I forget that they are even in. They also don't require excessive cleaning.

      Comments about Frequency 55 Toric:

I have used these contacts for years and they are still my favorite. They do get a little dry in the eyes but that might be from wearing them too long. I wear them almost all day and my eyes never hurt until night time. I have tried using Acuvue for astigmatism and they made my eyes hurt, bloodshot, dry and they were blurry most of the time. I am switching back to my Frequency 55 toric. I love them!

      Comments about Frequency 55 Toric:

While these are some of the best values contacts around, I frequently find that when I open a new package the contact already is scratched. This did not happen one or two times, but seems to occur several times per box. They do last a long time however, which is good considering they are cheap also.

      Comments about Frequency 55 Toric:

I wear contacts when being active out and about and don't want to be bogged down by glasses. I have used these lenses for years and they are okay but with other brands now coming out with more choices for astigmatism I'm going to change. These contacts tend to move around and I am always having to correct them to reduce the blur and clean them due to sticking to my eye.

My perscription for the cylinder is -4.25, which doesn't appear as an option.
        Can I still order here?

          A:

Yes, you can order that prescription online. For lenses with a high cylinder, you would need to order what's called the "extended range" for this brand. The extended range lenses are custom, made-to-order lenses for stronger prescriptions. You can find the correct lenses under Frequency 55 Toric XR.

Can you order these contacts in colored contacts also, or do you have to switch brands?

        • 1-800 CONTACTS Customer Care

          A:

Unfortunately, the Frequency 55 Toric are not made in color. You would have to switch brands to find a colored lens for astigmatism. However, just keep in mind your doctor would need to approve any brand change in advance.

The invoice you have may very well show everything you need to order. If you would like help reading that invoice we would be happy to assist you by phone or live chat. We can also call your eye doctor to get the numbers if you would prefer.

          A:

The Frequency 55 Toric can be worn overnight if that is approved by your eye care provider, however they are not specifically designed for overnight wear. Lenses that are designed for overnight wear have different properties to allow more oxygen to get through the lens in order to maintain proper eye health. It is always important to consult with your eye doctor regarding your wear schedule and follow their instructions.

      • Q:

How do I read the label on the box to determine my power, BC, DIA, CYL and AXIS to enter on the ordering page?

Asked on 4/21/2010 by Toby from Mount Sinai, NY

        1 answer

        • 1-800 CONTACTS Customer Care

          A:

All the numbers you need are on the side of your contact lens box. The first two numbers listed are the BC and DIA. The base curve will be either 8.7 or 8.4, then you will see a "/" and the diameter is the number that follows, which is 14.4 for the Frequency 55 Toric. The last three numbers should be listed in order: Power, Cylinder, and then Axis. The power or sphere is a + or - number, followed by another - number which is the cylinder. The axis is a number between 0 and 180, and is usually preceded by an "x".
