        Comments about SofLens 38:

I've worn contacts for years and sometime have issues with dry eyes. I've had eye doctors switch me to several newer, "better" products, only to find out that they are completely unwearable for me. Even the products that claim to keep your eye moist, etc., cause me extreme discomfort after only a few hours.

I can't wear these contacts for more than 12 or so hours without them becoming dry, but I try to remember that they're not made to be worn for 16+ hours a day.

          Comments about SofLens 38:

The only thing good about this product is that it provides clear vision but at the price of having to constantly put drops in. If you don't keep them wet enough they will scratch your eye. (Has happened to me several times, people thought I had pink eye). I wouldn't recommend these to anyone. If your doctor tries to prescribe these tell them no or run away.

                A:

There isn't a set limit for how many hours each type of lens can be worn. Every lens wearer is different and will find that their lenses are comfortable for a different amount of time. If you find that your lenses are still comfortable after 8 hours you can continue to wear them. However if you feel they are not as comfortable, you would need to either take them out or use a rewetting drop to aid in comfort.

I have bought contact lens before but I'm not sure if they were these. My prescription is -2.50, but when I got them it was -2.00 they said that it was less prescription because it was in my eye not like glasses. If I type in my prescription as -2.50 in the power box will my contacts have that prescription or will they have -2.00?

                A:

Glasses prescriptions will be different from contact lens prescriptions. Your contact lens prescription should have a lower number than your glasses prescription if the doctor indicated it was necessary. We will send the exact prescription you enter online, so it is important to make sure the number is accurate when you place your order. Since you don't remember which lenses you were prescribed, we would be happy to contact your eye doctor to confirm your prescription before you order.

You will need to know the BC information before we can place your order. However, we would be happy to call your eye doctor to obtain that information. We are available 24/7 for customer service. Give us a call at 1-800-266-8228, or use our Live Chat service for further assistance.

                A:

The SofLens 38 really aren't designed for overnight wear, so it is not recommended unless your eye doctor has instructed you to do so. There are several brands that are FDA approved for overnight wear, including the PureVision, Air Optix Night and Day Aqua, Acuvue Oasys, O2 Optix, and more. You would simply need to get your doctor to approve a new brand for you in order to switch.

You ask about right eye and left eye for ordering. My son just uses the same contact for both eyes. Is there a difference when ordering?

                A:

If the prescription is the same for each eye, simply fill in the same information for both eyes. We ask for them separately because most people have a different prescription in each eye. The lenses themselves are the same no matter which eye they are ordered for, the fields simply notate which lens belongs in which eye in the event that they are different.
