What is an online vision exam?

An online vision exam is a convenient and affordable way to renew your contact lens or glasses prescription from home—no appointment necessary.

How much does a vision exam cost?

While a typical in-office comprehensive eye exam costs $150 on average, our online vision exam is only $20.

How do you determine which contacts may work for me?

We use your current brand and prescription parameters to match you with other high-quality, FDA-approved contacts in the exact measurements your doctor gave you.

If you’re curious how to test vision at home, or want to know how to take an eye exam without hassle, rest easy. Our online vision exam is a convenient and affordable way to renew your contact lens or glasses prescription from home—no appointment necessary.

Curious about how to do an eye exam at home?

During your ExpressExam, you’ll answer a few questions, take pictures of your eyes, and test your vision by reading letters like you would at the doctor’s office. You can complete the exam in less than 10 minutes on a computer, smartphone, or tablet. A board-certified ophthalmologist licensed in your state will review your results and, if approved, will issue your prescriptions within two business hours.

It’s usually a good idea to get a comprehensive eye exam every one to two years, depending on your overall health. But if you want to change contact brands or renew an expired prescription without another trip to the eye doctor, you may be able to take a vision exam online.

If I want to try new contacts, do I have to go back to my doctor’s office to get a new prescription?

Nope! If you qualify for our online vision exam, ExpressExam, you may get a prescription renewal for your current contacts and an additional prescription for new contacts without leaving home. If you’re unsure how to take an eye exam correctly, don’t worry! It’s simple and hassle-free.

How long does it take to get a vision exam?

Our online vision exam takes less than 10 minutes to complete. All you need is your smartphone or laptop and ten feet of space to get started.

How much is a vision exam with insurance?

Vision insurance usually covers one regular, in-network visit with your eye care provider per year ($150 on average). Depending on your insurance plan, you may need to pay an additional copay. Many insurance providers also cover the cost of an online vision exam.
