CIO announces its 2020 award winners

We are so pleased to share that our tech team was honored by CIO magazine for ExpressExam in their Business Technology category. We’ve been disrupting on behalf of customers since our inception 25 years ago when we became the first company to sell contacts direct to consumers. In that same spirit of providing consumers better access to vision care, we developed ExpressExam.

ExpressExam leverages a variety of technologies in unique ways, including webcams, depth sensing cameras, modernizing the paper eye chart through digitization, acoustic sensors, natural language processing, and compression to transmit large audio files on low bandwidth connections, all to provide an at-home vision exam. It enables contact lens wearers to receive a renewed contact lens prescription from a board-certified eye doctor without leaving their home. Since they don’t have to schedule and then travel to a doctor’s office for a vision exam, they can receive their new contacts faster.

We’re grateful for this recognition and are excited to continue disrupting the vision industry on behalf of our customers.
