Brand choice

People love to choose. That’s why they made those Coca-Cola Freestyle® machines with 127 flavors. I’m a simple man, so I usually get regular Mr. Pibb® and pretend it’s Dr. Pepper®. But you might prefer Coke® Orange or Sprite® Vanilla. Heck, you might even mix all 127 flavors together for the ultimate swamp water. The point is that you can do you, which is how it should be.

We started brand choice so you can do you when it comes to contacts. You probably wouldn’t want prescriptions for 127 different contact lens brands, but you’d like at least a couple to choose from if possible, right?

Let’s talk more about our goals for brand choice and how it works.

Our goals for brand choice

We have two primary goals for brand choice:

  1. Helping our customers get healthier contacts (i.e., dailies)
    • Daily contacts are healthier than extended-wear contacts like biweeklies and monthlies. Dailies don’t get a chance to build up deposits and proteins, and they reduce the possibility of contamination because they don’t need to be handled as much. Between you and me, one of our customers’ favorite daily brand is a 1-800 Contacts-exclusive called AquaSoft Daily. It’s pretty incredible.
  2. Giving our customers other similar and/or better choices so they can figure out which contact lens brands work best for them
    • You know your eyeballs better than anyone. If an eye doctor determines that multiple brands are safe and effective for you, you should be able to decide which brand you want to use. You also know your wallet better than anyone and should be able to buy contacts that work with your budget.

How brand choice works

Step one: take a 10-minute online vision exam to renew the prescription for your current brand and see if you can try other brands. Note that not everyone is eligible to try multiple brands, so multiple prescriptions aren’t guaranteed. It’s ultimately up to the board-certified eye doctor who reviews your exam. If they think other brands could work well for you, you’ll receive prescriptions for those other brands in addition to a renewed prescription for your current brand.

If the doctor permits, you can get prescriptions for both dailies and a brand of colored contacts. That way, you can wipe the floor with your coworkers at your next work Halloween costume contest.

Okay, just a few last things. You don’t have to switch if you don’t want to. You’re more than welcome to continue ordering your current brand. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. It’s your choice. But if you do want to try something different, you can risk-free thanks to our Gajillion Percent Promise. You’re welcome to return unused lenses to us anytime for a full refund. Finally, receiving multiple prescriptions doesn’t require you to pay anything beyond the measly online exam fee—the eye doctor who reviews your exam results will automatically consider you for brand choice.
