FreshLook Colored Contacts

The easiest way to save on contact lenses®

Why choose Freshlook colored contact lenses?

When you decide to wear colored contacts, your biggest concern is probably whether they will look natural. This is where Freshlook's secret to their incredibly realistic appearance is their signature 3-in-1 color technology. Instead of printing a single, solid block of color onto the lens, Freshlook blends three distinct layers to mimic the natural complexity of a human iris:

  • The inner starburst pattern: This inner ring provides a visually seamless transition between your natural iris color and the chosen lens color. It adds incredible depth and dimension, so the color shift looks organic rather than painted on.
  • The primary color: This is the main shade you choose, which defines and emphasizes the iris, enhancing your natural eye color whether you want something subtle or bold.
  • The charcoal outer ring: This darker outer edge adds crisp definition, subtly making your eyes look slightly larger, brighter, and more youthful.

This layered approach allows your unique eye color to shine through, creating a natural, radiant look that is entirely your own. Because the lenses are designed to be versatile, they work beautifully to enhance any eye color, whether your natural eyes are very dark or very light.

Exploring the Freshlook contact lens collections

Not all eyes are the same, and neither are your daily habits. Freshlook offers a few distinct collections to ensure you get exactly what you need in terms of color opacity and wear schedule.

Freshlook Colorblends

Freshlook Colorblends are the most popular lenses in the lineup. They're designed for a subtle, natural blend, making them perfect for everyday wear. Because they use the 3-in-1 color technology, they gracefully combine with your natural eye color. These are typically worn as a one-to-two-week disposable lens, meaning you wear them during the day, clean them at night, and replace them with a fresh pair after a couple of weeks.

The color range here is massive. You can choose from classic shades like Green, Blue, and Gray, or explore more vibrant options like Brilliant Blue, Gemstone Green, Pure Hazel, Sterling Gray, Amethyst, Honey, and True Sapphire.

Freshlook Colors

While Colorblends are all about a subtle mix, Freshlook Colors are designed with a more opaque tint. If you have very dark eyes and want to make a significant color change—like going from deep brown to bright blue—this is the collection you want to look at. The solid color pattern ensures that your dark natural shade does not overpower the lighter lens color, giving you a striking, noticeable transformation.

Freshlook One-Day

If you love the convenience of daily disposable lenses, Freshlook One-Day is your best bet. Made with nelfilcon hydrogel material, these lenses are incredibly comfortable and require absolutely zero maintenance. You put a fresh, sterile pair in every morning and simply throw them away before you go to sleep. They are perfect for people who only want to wear colored contacts occasionally, like on weekends or for special events, because you do not have to worry about buying lens solution or storing them in a case. They feature the same beautiful 3-in-1 color technology as the Colorblends line but in a hassle-free daily format.

How to choose your perfect eye color

Picking your new eye color is the most fun part of the process, but it can also be tricky. The final result of any colored contact lens depends heavily on your natural eye color, your skin tone, and your hair color.

Enhancing light eyes

If you already have light eyes (like pale blue or green), you have the flexibility to either enhance your natural shade or change it completely. To add depth to your natural color, try a subtle enhancement tint. If you want a totally different look, experimenting with warmer tones like Pure Hazel or Honey can create a beautiful, unexpected contrast with your complexion.

Transforming dark eyes

Dark eyes require a bit more color coverage to see a noticeable change. If you have dark brown eyes and want a subtle shift, Pure Hazel is a universally flattering choice that warms up your face without looking artificial. If you want a more dramatic change, look for vibrant, opaque options like Brilliant Blue or Gemstone Green. The charcoal outer ring on these lenses will help frame the bright color, ensuring it still looks natural against your darker features.

Care and comfort for your colored lenses

If you are wearing reusable lenses like Freshlook Colorblends or Freshlook Colors, always wash and thoroughly dry your hands before touching your eyes or your lenses. Use a high-quality, recommended multipurpose contact lens solution to clean and store them overnight. Never use water or saliva, as this can introduce dangerous bacteria to your eyes.

Pay strict attention to the expiration date on the box and your prescribed replacement schedule. Overwearing your lenses past their intended lifespan can lead to protein buildup, discomfort, and even serious eye infections. If you ever experience redness, pain, or blurred vision, take the lenses out immediately and consult your eye care professional.

Frequently asked questions about Freshlook contacts

We know that navigating the world of colored contacts can bring up a few questions, especially if you are comparing different brands or have worn Freshlook in the past and are looking to reorder.

Have Freshlook Colorblends been discontinued?

You might have heard rumors or seen limited stock online, leading many to ask if Freshlook lenses are being phased out. Alcon, the manufacturer, has been slowly transitioning some of their older hydrogel lines to newer, more breathable silicone hydrogel materials. While certain specific parameters, base curves, or niche colors in the Freshlook line have been discontinued in various regions, many of the most popular Freshlook Colorblends and Freshlook One-Day lenses are still readily available. If you cannot find your specific prescription, it is a great time to talk to your eye doctor about an updated fitting.

Is Air Optix better than Freshlook?

Air Optix Colors is Alcon’s newer line of colored contact lenses. The primary difference comes down to the material. Air Optix lenses are made from a highly breathable silicone hydrogel, which allows significantly more oxygen to pass through the lens to your eye compared to the traditional hydrogel used in Freshlook.

Does this mean they are better? For many people, yes, because higher oxygen flow generally means greater comfort, especially for long days of wear. Interestingly, Air Optix Colors actually utilizes the exact same 3-in-1 color technology that made Freshlook Colorblends so famous. So, if your doctor recommends switching to Air Optix for better eye health, you will not have to sacrifice the beautiful, natural-looking colors you love.

How long can you wear Fresh Look lenses?

How long you can wear FreshLook lenses depends on the product and your doctor’s advice. FreshLook One-Day lenses are worn once, then thrown away. FreshLook ColorBlends and FreshLook Colors are worn daily for 1–2 weeks—remove and clean them each night, and replace after up to 14 days. Don’t sleep in any FreshLook lenses, as overnight use isn’t safe and can increase risks to your eyes.
